We discover uji matcha while on holiday in Penang as recommended by the barista at a plant based cafe. My husband tried it but I didn't like the smell. He fell in love with it instantly. So when we got back to Perth, we couldn't find a cafe that had Uji and also the cafes did not do it properly. As coffee and poor quality matcha in Perth is getting expensive, I decided to do it myself. Searching the web we found Kenko Tea. Thank goodness! The uji matcha is of high quality and making it, is kinda therapeutic for me. Very Zen moment. Anyway, I started drinking it as well for health reasons and enjoy sipping it on our balcony.
My first experience with doing my own Matcha Tea, these products and the tea strainer is enabling me to make a drinkable Matcha Soy Milk Latte. It has suppress hunger for quite a few active hours. I use an Aldi milk frother with a tea spoon of Manuka Honey in the jug before I froth.
